Lebanese restaurant. ( Memory of summer days in 2020, part 4.) / レバノンレストラン (2020年、夏の思い出。その4）

8月のある日、レバノン料理を食べに行きました。
店の雰囲気も、料理も全てが最高で、本当にオススメです！
少しドレスアップして行くと、気分が上がっていいですよ〜

One day of August, I went to a Lebanese restaurant. Great ambience, amazing food and everything was fantastic! If you dress up little to go there, it should put you in a good mood more.

このレストランへ行く前に、日本在住でレバノン出身の生徒さんにどの料理がオススメか聞きました。代表的な料理として、タブーリサラダとファラーフェルを教えてくれたので、注文したのですが、さいっっっこうに美味しかったです。
もちろん、他にもいっぱい食べました。そして、レバノンワインも！美味しかった〜

I have a student who is from Lebanon and lives in Tokyo. I asked him what the signature dish was and he recommended “Tabouleh salad” and “Falafel”, so we ordered them needless to say. Well,,, I can’t say how delicious they were!!!
Of course, we ate the others and a lot. Lebanese wines tasted great as well.

思い出すだけでまた食べたくなります。リピート決定！

この後は、3次会へと流れましたよ。実は、バーレストランで飲んでからレストランへ移動したのでした。まだまだおしゃべりしたいということで、またその店へ戻りましたよ。

After that, we moved to the after-after-party. Well, actually we stopped by a bar restaurant before the Lebanese restaurant, so we went back there again for chatting.

以前、この近所に住んでいたので、この店にはよく行っていました。
I used to live near by there and often went.

最後はもう写真もまともに撮れないくらい酔っ払ってしまいましたね。
ちゃんちゃん。

スマホに入っている写真、皆さんはどのように整理をしていますか。
なかなか捨てられないし…ということで、7月にアムステルダム中央の街中で撮った写真をここに残しておきたいと思います。
大した写真ではないんですけどね。

How do I organize my photos on my phone? It is hard to delete all,,, so I leave some here, which I took around Amsterdam Centrum in July.
They are not so something special actually.

Cycling to Ikea & Tarako spaghetti. ( Memory of summer days in 2020, part 3.) / イケアからのたらこスパゲティ (2020年、夏の思い出。その3）

7月末のある日、友達がサイクリングに誘ってくれました。
最初は海に行く予定でしたが、遠いのでわたしがついていけないかもしれない、ということになり、目的地はハーレムのIKEAに変わりました。
アムステルダムに来てから初の自転車だったので、ちょっと怖気（おじけ）づいてしまいましたね。

One day of the end of July, I had cycling with my friends. We were planning to go to the beach at first, but the destination was changed to Ikea in Haarlem since I might have not be able to make it. The beach was kind of far and also it was the first time for me to ride a bicycle in Amsterdam.

集合場所のアムステルダム中央駅に行くと、友達がすでにわたしの自転車をレンタルしてくれていました。
さて、このレンタル自転車ですが、ハンドルにはブレーキがついておらず、ペダルについています。オランダではこのタイプが主流らしいので、初めての人は慣れるまで少し練習した方がいいかもしれません。
幸い、わたしは東京に住んでいた時にピストバイクに乗っていたので、ペダルブレーキに慣れていて大丈夫でしたが、オランダ人の自転車走行はスピードが速いですし、気をつけないとなかなか危ないです。

When I arrived at Amsterdam Centrum station to meet my friends, they had already rented a bike for me.
Well, this rental bike had a pedal break instead of a handle break. This type is usual in the Netherlands, so you might need some time to practice to get used to it. I used to ride a fixied bike in Tokyo, therefore there was no problem.
Dutch people are going too fast by bike and you have to be careful.

この日は天気も良くて、まさにサイクリング日和でした。自然の風景が綺麗で最高でしたよ。
途中から足とお尻が痛くなって来ましたが、がんばって友達について行きました。わたしに合わせてゆっくり走行してくれたので往復4時間ぐらいかかりましたが、いい運動になりました。また行きたい！
早く自転車を買わなきゃ、と思いました。

It was a beautiful day and perfect for the cycling. I started to feel little bit pain on my foot and buttocks, but I followed my friends not to be behind. They went slowly for me and it was about a four-hours round trip. I was tired but I definitely want to go again!
It made me feel like “I have to get my own bike asap!”

ところで、イケアでは、この「カレス・キャビア」というペーストを買いました。これでたらこスパゲティが作れると、海外に住む方達のブログで紹介されていたのを読んだからです。家に帰って早速作ってみると、、、、、

By the way, what I bought at IKEA was this cod roe paste called “Kalles Kaviar”. I read some blogs which were written about this by Japanese people who lived outside Japan. They were saying, “You can cook ‘Tarako (Cod roe) spaghetti’ with this.” Tarako spaghetti is a Japanese style spaghetti and one of popular one.I cooked it after coming home and then,,,,

日本で食べるたらこスパゲティそのものでした！
感動！！！心の中で、「イケア、ありがとう！」と叫びましたよ。
別の日に、イケアに一緒に行った友達にも作りましたが、「美味しい！」と食べてくれました。

It tasted pretty much the same as Japanese tarako spaghetti in Japan!
I cooked it for a friend of mine who went to IKEA together on the other day. She liked it and said “delicious!”

いい一日でした。
It was a good day.

Tapas restaurant. ( Memory of summer days in 2020, part 2.) / タパスレストラン (2020年、夏の思い出。その2）

話は6月末に遡（さかのぼ）ります。友達3人と、タパスレストランに行きました。一人はスペイン人だったので、注文は彼女に全てお任せです。どれも本当に美味しかった！

Back to the end of June.
I went to a tapas restaurant with 3 of my friends. One of them was a Spanish and she became to be in charge to order food naturally.
Well, every dish was amazing!

この日も暑かったのを覚えていますが、運河沿いのテラス席でとっても気持ちが良く、ワインもすすみましたよ。

I remember that it was a hot day, but our table was outside along the canal and it felt so good. That made me ask another couple of wines many times.

ところで、日本には、「タパスレストラン」はあまりありません。
「スペイン料理レストラン」に行くと、タパスやパエリアが食べられます。
ですから、私は、タパスとパエリアは別の店で食べる料理だとは知りませんでした。

By the way, there are not “Tapas restaurant” much in Japan, because “Spanish restaurant” usually has the both of tapas and paella in their menu and you can order them at the same restaurant. Therefore I did not know that you couldn’t eat them at the same restaurant basically.

The sunset was beautiful!

よく食べて、よく飲んで、よくおしゃべりした夜でした。
It was a lovely evening, which we ate, drunk and chatted a lot.

Memory of summer days in 2020, part 1. / 2020年、夏の思い出、その1

あっという間に9月になってしまいました。速すぎる！

I can’t believe that it’s already September! Time flies!!!

8月は暑い日が何日もあり、クーラーがない部屋で過ごすのは大変でしたが、天井に扇風機がついていたのでだいぶ助かりました。
暑くても、晴れた空を見ると気持ちがいいものですよね。やっぱり私は寒い冬より暑い夏の方が好きです。

We had several hot summer days in August and it was hard to spend in a room without an air conditioner but luckily I had a fan on my ceiling and it helped me a lot. It felt good when you saw a beautiful sky even though it was hot. I rather hot summer than cold winter.

Thank you for making my room cooler! / 部屋を涼しくしてくれてありがとう！

7月末から8月中は、結構、夏らしいことをしたなーと思います。思い出として残すためにも、少しずつ書いていこうと思います。美味しいレストランにも行ったので、紹介したいですしね。

I had fun a lot and did some “summer things” in July and August, so I will write about it little by little, it is actually for myself to remember as a memory. Also I would like to share some good restaurants which I went.

まず、大きなイベントとしては、7月中旬にアムステルダムの西から北に引っ越したことです。

First, I moved to Amsterdam North from West in the middile of July and it was a big event for me.

アムステルダムの北からセントラルへ行くには無料のフェリーに乗ることができるのでとても便利です。

You can take a ferry to go to the central from North for free and it’s very convenient.

西アムステルダムも好きでしたが、北アムステルダムはまた雰囲気が違っていて好きです。

I liked Amsterdam west but I also like Noord because I can feel good vibes here.
